Establishing Split Shifts for Election Officials


The Town Board of the Town of Akan, Richland County, Wisconsin, has the specific authority under s. 7.30(1), Wis. Stats., to adopt this ordinance.


This ordinance, adopted by a majority of the town board on a roll call vote with a quorum present
and voting and proper notice having been given, provides for the selection of 2 sets of officials to work at different times on each Election Day as follows:


There shall be 2 shifts for election workers on all election days. The first shift shall commence at
6:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. The second shift shall commence at 2:00 p.m. and end with completion of all required Election Day duties that follow the closure of the polls.


This ordinance is effective on publication or posting.


The town clerk shall properly post or publish this ordinance as required under s. 60.80, Wis. Stats.
